Satellites are installed in the space and rotates at the same speed with which the earth rotates. Since both the satellite and earth rotates at the same speed, the satellite looks stationary to people living on earth. It is therefore very important for you as an installer to know the position of the satellite you want to install.
In Nigeria where I base, we have different satellites such as DSTV (Digital Satellite Television), HITV, MYTV, MULTITV, INFINITYTV etc. You must however note that all the satellite mentioned above are DSTV. Multichoice the service provider of the DSTV is the first to operate in Nigeria. This the reason why every body in Nigeria refer to them as DSTV.
